Explosives have rocked the foundation of the PDP secretariat in Yenagoa as aspirants flex muscles. The explosive went off about two hours ago, according to what we have learnt. Residents who spoke to this publication said the revibration of the blast could be heard kilometres away from the scene. The identity of the group which was behind the blast is not yet not known, but sources in the State capital told this publication that some persons stormed the party secretariat and detonated the explosive. Our sources disclosed that frightened party members took to their heels as the suspected political thugs made their way into the secretariat complex. We cannot confirm if anyone was injured, but tension has been mounting as forces loyal to the State Governor, Seriake Dickson and former President Goodluck Jonathan go for each other’s jugular. Already, officials of the Bayelsa State Government are blaming Chief Timi Alaibe and his supporters for the incident. There has been no reaction from the Alaibe camp which some insiders say is allegedly being backed by the ex-President. Like Rivers State, Bayelsa politics is usually laced with violence, usually carried out by armed thugs recruited by desperate politicians. Only the strong, according to records, wins the fight.
